After successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- use a variety of resources to create web-based documents (HTML, Macromedia
Dreamweaver, Netscape Composer)
- publish web pages on the Internet (FTP, proprietary transfer software)
- use a variety of graphic programs to create web graphics to enhance your
web site
- use a digital camera and scanner to create web graphics
- effectively manage computer files on a local area network (LAN) and on
your web site
- easily locate free resources for creating web pages
- use search engines efficiently and effectively to locate a variety of resources
- research careers related to the course (webmaster, programmer, network
administrator, graphic artist, etc.)
- Use word processing and presentation software (i.e. Word and PowerPoint) to transform documents and presentations into web pages, gaining skills that can be applied in other subject areas
This course address new Wyoming content standards in the area of Career /
Vocational Education. Specific content standards addressed are:
1. Resources
- Students assess individual skills, and evaluate and adjust their performance
accordingly.
- Students prioritizeand manage time, materials, work space, and resources
to set and achieve goals.
2. Interpersonal Skills
- Students work with individuals/groups of diverse abilities and backgrounds
in a workplace setting.
- Studnets demonstrate and/or teach a learned skill.
3. Information
- Students acquire and evaluate workplace information
- Students organize and update workplace information
- Students interpret and communicate workplace information
- Students use techology to process workplace information
4. Systems
- Students evaluate the quality and performance of a variety of systems
- Students suggest modifications to exisitng systems and develo new or alternative
ideas for systems to improve performance.
5. Technology
- Students choose and utilize rocedures, tools or equipment, including computers
and related technologies.
- Students demonstrate proper procedure for set-up, operation, and routine
maintenance of workplace equipment.
- Students use workplace equipment to solve problems
- Students apply safe and ethical practices when using workplace technologies
6. Careers
- Students locate and interpret career information and labor market trends
from a variety of sources.
